Coal Ministry Decides To Create Central Mine Office State Company On Base Of Carl Marx MineThe Ministry of Coal Industry has decided to create a state coal mining company - Central Mine Office - on the base of Carl Marx Mine of the Ordzhonikidzevuhillia (Donetsk region).
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the ministry, the wording of which was made available to the agency.
The Ministry of Coal Industry passed the decision at a meeting of the scientific and technical council of the ministry on October 2. The statement reads that the new state company's major facility will be Carl Marx Mine, which is to resume operation soon.
The new state company will also include the Haharina Mine and the Korotchenko Mine in Donetsk region.
The ministry also decided at the meeting to appoint Haharina Mine Director Serhii Kulynych acting director of the state company.
Although the Haharina Mine and the Korotchenko Mine are in the status of operating mines, they do not produce coal at present [mines of the third group].
According to specialists of the Ministry of Coal Industry, the Haharina Mine is likely to resume coal production within one-and-a-half month.
The mine will produce 400 tons of coking coal of "K" grade a day.
According to the ministry, the Korotchenko Mine is likely to resume coal production in the near future.
The mine will produce between 200 tons and 250 tons of coal of "Zh" grade a day.
Oleksandr Horobets, the press secretary of the ministry, told Ukrainian News that the decision to create the state company was endorsed by order No.471 of the ministry of October 2.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, an explosion hit the Karl Marx Coalmine on June 8 when 37 people were under the ground, including one woman.
One miner was killed and his body was lifted to the surface while the fates of 12 were unknown at that time.
In August, rescuers took to the surface fragments of another nine bodies of miners.
Ukraine trimmed coal production by 6% or 4.82 million tons in 2007 over 2006, to 75.437 million. èñòî÷íèê: Ukrainian News Agency
